This winter, experience the magic of Paris while immersing yourself in an exceptional academic winter program at one of Europe’s most prestigious institutions.

From January 13th to 24th, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Sorbonne University welcomes participants from all over the world to the Winter University, offering a unique opportunity to explore French culture through a range of enriching courses. Located in the heart of Paris’s Latin Quarter, the Sorbonne University attracts a large international community each year.

Participants will dive into history, literature, and philosophy through one-week, non-degree programs led by Sorbonne professors. Featured courses include « The French Revolutions, » « Paris and Its Monuments, » « The Great Currents of Philosophy, » and « The Classics of French Literature, » all taught in French. For English-speaking participants, an English-taught course, “The Sorbonne in English,” offers an introduction to key Sorbonne disciplines.

Make the most of your winter stay in Paris by learning or perfecting your French. French as a Foreign Language courses will be available at two levels: beginner (A1) and advanced (C1).

Multidisciplinary courses take place from Monday through Friday, with each session lasting three hours, allowing plenty of time to explore Paris. French language courses are more intensive, with four to six hours of immersive classes daily, tailored to each level. The program concludes with a certificate ceremony and a cocktail gathering for participants and professors.

The Sorbonne Winter University is open to anyone aged 16 or over who wants to learn something new or improve their knowledge. For the multidisciplinary courses a minimum B1 level in French is recommended for French-taught courses, though no proof is required.
