CIEE Seeking Host Families

CIEE is a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization that transforms lives and builds bridges between individuals and nations through study abroad and international exchange experiences that help people develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world.

Host families are a core component of our Language & Culture programs. With host families, participants get to practice the French skills they learn in class, get to know local customs and traditions, explore the city, interact with family friends, and receive support and guidance.

CIEE Paris is looking for host families who will be invested in the student’s success in French.

Host families are diverse, just like our participants! Some examples of host families are:
– A young family with small children
– A couple without children
– A single parent with a teenage son or daughter
– An elderly couple

Dates (participating in one or both sessions possible)
Session 1 : June 8 – July 5
Session 2 : July 6 – August 2

Missions & Responsibilities
– Share breakfast and dinner with their student each day
– Meals (Dietary needs accommodated)
– Curfews during the week & weekends
– Access to laundry
– WIFI

Conditions
– To live less than an hour from Gare de Lyon by transportation
– To host participants between 14 and 17 years old
– French is the principal language spoken in the home

Selection
Process includes interviews, background checks and home visits.
